NOAH was officially established through a press conference that was held in Jakarta, precisely at Musica Studios on August 2, 2012. NOAH consists of five members, namely Ariel, Uki, Lukman, Reza and David. NOAH is defined as the length of life, the giver of peace.Previously Ariel, Uki, Lukman Reza and using the name Peterpan with two former members of the Andika and Indra. INITIAL FORM
In 1997, keyboardist Andika (Andika Naliputra Wirahardja) formed a school band in Bandung, Indonesia. The band is named Topi, with guitarist Ukie (Kauthar Mohammad Hikmat), vocalist Ariel, Abel bass player, and drummer Ari. They often play music with the flow Brit Alternative until Ari withdrew from the group, and Hats disbanded.
Andika then re-unite the former personnel Hats in 2000. However, the drummer was replaced by Reza (Ilsyah Ryan Reza), a college student from Palu. Loekman (Loekman Judge), a friend of Indra's brother also joined as guitarist. Andie also suggested Peterpan as the name for a band named after Peter Pan, the animated character created by author JM Barrie.
Other names that they deem appropriate to be used as the name of their new band right then and there, Spiderman and X-Men. But eventually, the name Peterpan approved. The band was officially founded on September 1, 2000. Peterpan initially often appearing on the streets of London and the cafes, with the goal of becoming the house band at one of the cafes in the city. They often sing pop and rock songs owned by Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Coldplay, U2, Creed, etc. in O'Hara and Broom Sticks Cafe.
RECORDING
Peterpan began ogled by a producer named Noey, bassist Java Jive is planning to release a compilation album when they performed at Broom Sticks Cafe. Peterpan finally sent three songs for the demo: Companions (Best Friend), Perfect Dream, and Sky Garden. Perfect dreams selected for entry in the compilation album, titled Story of 2002 Nights. The album was commercially successful, and sold 150,000 copies, and Perfect Dream played in many radio success in Indonesia.
Musica, the famous music label in Indonesia, Peterpan contract offer, and in June 2003 their debut album was released Heaven Park. They also received a Multi Platinum album Heaven Park since managed to sell up to 650 thousand copies.
Not only the number of sales, Peter also scored a record concert marathon in six provinces within 24 hours on July 18, 2004. Their second album Stairway To Heaven was released in August 2004, selling 350,000 copies in two weeks. At the end of 2005, has sold 2.7 million copies. And according to the records, this album is able to sell as many as 3 million copies.
Not only that, in early 2005, Peter also won the award for favorite artist in MTV ASIA Indonesia Aid on February 9, 2005 in Bangkok. In Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) in 2005, Peter also tops the nominees with 11 nominations gain. Four of them printed through the song, What's With you. Of the 11 nominations, Peter gained 7 awards, among others, for "best band", "best album", "the best album graphic design", and "best production work" because the album Stars in Heaven. In the event SCTV Music Awards 2005, Peter also received an award in the category "Album Ngetop Pop Group" and "Song Most Ngetop".
In 2005, Peter re-released 2 albums, namely VCD To Sahabat Peterpan containing Orginal Karaoke VCD includes video clips as well as documentation when they do record-breaking concert for 24 hours in 6 cities, and album for the film Alexandria.
RESISTANCE
On 4 November 2006, Andika and Indra, officially out of the band members. Both former members of the group eventually formed a new band called The Titans.
Post-discharge Andika and Indra, their position is occupied by two additional musicians, namely Lucky on bass and David on keyboard. With these additional formations, Peterpan released, Bright Day. The launching event was also made another album because it is done in the two countries. RUUMS in Kuala Lumpur on May 25, 2007 after it was in London at the Monument to the Heroes Gazebo and broadcast live at 6 television stations.
This album is claimed as their last album with the name "Shakira". Ariel claims that in the end they will release the name Peterpan and using other names.
Although without the formation intact as before, Peter is still able to demonstrate 'taring'nya. In September 2007, they had the honor to participate in the show "Song Festival" in South Korea. Previously, peterpan also still capable of bagging the award for Best Favorite Artist Indonesia MTV Asia Award 2006 and the Pop Group Album SCTV Music Award 2006 Ngetop.
Peterpan rocked PORN VIDEO CASE
Having rocked by divisions among the members, the band once again disaster struck, with the advent of video scenes nasty case of someone like Ariel Peterpan. This case resulted in the arrest of Ariel on June 22, 2010.
But this case did not dampen the spirit of fans of Peterpan. And to answer their fans longing, Ariel and his friends held several performances in the Penitentiary. In addition, in May 2012 the band released an instrumental album titled Other Sound. After Ariel out of custody with parole status from the date of July 23, 2012, the plan in the near future they will be releasing a new album which has been delayed due to the case of Ariel.
TURN INTO NOAH Peterpan name
After Ariel out of custody, Peterpan later renamed NOAH. The new name has actually been around since 2010. However, on August 2, 2012, the band has announced their new name, the NOAH. Noah name itself means to make comfortable, give peace, and longevity. Not only changed the name of his band, their fans also proper names renamed by eliminating frills Peterpan.
On 15-16 September 2012, with a new name, NOAH successfully perform 5 concerts in the country, starting from 23.30 Melbourne. From there, they then went to Hong Kong at 10:20. At 16:45 hours, NOAH concert in Kuala Lumpur continuing on to Singapore at 20:21. NOAH concert in Jakarta were closed at 23:00 pm.In September 2012, after the release of the song Half of I in August 2012, NOAH released a studio album titled As should be with single hits the Half Me. NOAH also selling new album in collaboration with one of the famous fast food restaurant in Indonesia. Within 3 days of the album sold over 200 thousand copies.
RIOTS IN CONCERT
Just like other famous band in Indonesia, NOAH concert was not separated from the problem. In 2006, during a concert at the stadium Harapan Bangsa Lhongraya Banda Aceh on February 22, 2006, at least 30 people in the audience fainted, most of them are young women.
Not only that, the concert was also assessed violate Islamic Sharia laws that have been enacted kaffah (complete) in the Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) due to the mixing of men and women in the audience in the show field.
The riots at concerts, not only affects the audience, but also members of the band performing. This happens when NOAH was still using the name Peterpan concert in Stadium Way Cirebon, 11 April 2006. Hail thrown berkarcis audience was outside the stadium, a result not only dozens of spectators rushed to the hospital with a variety of stones, but also the vocalist, Ariel, were not spared from the hail.
